Celebrating Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Every year I try to make the march in town on the date of the celebration of MLK Jr. This year, A and I walked with others gathered in town, listening to speeches from various dignitaries, and pausing for a brief moment in what feels like a storm of negativity to remember.

My current favorite MLK quote:

What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive and that love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice. Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love.”
