2010 version:  Hi – thanks for reading.

There are a few things to know about this blog; I have three domains of interests that will be covered here.   One is about my family, hobbies and observations on life. The second is about saving the world.  The third is about my work experience and reflections on education.

I began my first blog in 2004, and kicked this one off in 2010.  I now have an official work-related site with my wife.

This one is a mash-up.  I won’t pretend to neatly discern between audiences – it will be up to you to choose what you think is interesting, outrageous or stupid.  This is purely a selfish endeavor on my part; as I grow older I find that I want to capture things in a way that blends words, images and sometimes sound.  Just to remind myself of  the wonders of the world, the brevity of life, and my constant challenge to see things – with fresh eyes.

2025 version:  Now, I feel as if I need to chronicle at least some of what is happening in the U.S. as we slide towards fascism.  As I know from reading history, one of the greatest levers of fascism is to control the media.  We have seen in the past 10 years a ramping up of vicious rhetoric from pundits through talk radio, ‘alt’ news sources and social media.  Now established sources (think major news networks) are under the thumbs of the billionaire class.  I fear that, along with those people who dissent, the facts of the matter will be ‘disappeared’ as well.  So now I note things that are happening based on trusted independent journalists (think AP, Guardian, the Conversation, Dr. H.C. Richardson, Dr. R. Reich, etc.) and on my own direct experience, in hopes that I won’t forget, and perhaps that you won’t forget either.

At least until WordPress is taken over and such truth-telling is made illegal and disappears.
