Cleaning day

Today I’m taking a break from taking parts off the car to clean what I have. I do NOT want to be putting dirty stuff back on it!

Letters to senators

Our country is under attack from within. This is the logical (even if surprisingly so) conclusion of decades of staging by various wealthy and powerful people – to deregulate our capitalist system, deconstruct our public education and health systems, and promote xenophobic ideologies. All that will be covered (if I have the stamina) in other posts. But today, I must implore my elected officials to do something, and to know that I, one of their constituents, will not sit idly by. Here is one of my letters:

Mr. Budd (and Mr. Tillis) – I cannot believe what I am reading and seeing. How can you support the total dismantling of our governmental institutions? How can you allow a madman (Musk) to bypass our constitution??? He is not even elected! I am a lifelong North Carolinian and believer and follower of our democratic processes and the place our constitution has at the center of our 3 branches of government – constructed so wisely as to provide checks and balances, and vital process to enable our democracy to endure.

Are you just going to go along with the madness?? Please say NO, and vote NO to the nonsense. Our very national security, public health, access to quality education, strong military, and economic power and political standing in the world are at stake.

Yours in democracy –
Steve

More dismantling

The dash is out, which took a bit of time. Two smallish nuts and washers towards the windshield and then two larger bolts on either end.

Bagged and tagged

Also notable are the two drain hoses that fit at the bottom of the trim behind the doors.

And… getting the heater blower clean is tricky:

There’s a flat plastic interface that has to marry up…

And this is what it looked like today when I was in the front wheel wells loosening the bumper bolts:
